Today we look at the topic of Trunk Guns for Survival/Preparedness purposes, discussing in detail the various considerations for such a firearm as well as some of the better options out there. The focus is on reliable yet inexpensive firearms that can stand up to the wear and tear involved in just riding around in your vehicle waiting for the time they might be needed. Included is information on various military surplus semiautos and bolt actions, major manufacturer hunting guns, and various shot guns that might be suitable. We also touch briefly on some of the legal considerations. For the last segment your host looks at the KelTec PMR-30 and discusses both his own experiences and the “scuttlebutt” on this intriguing design and where it might fit into a survival plan.

Chip, how much was the PMR-30?
The one I saw here locally was around $530, as I remember. If they ever start making enough of them I expect the price to drop significantly but they still seem fairly uncommon which drives the price up. One way or another, I hope to pick one up someday.
