The Saiga family of rifles is essentially the modern offspring of the AK-47 in a sporting package and today we discuss their usefulness to Survivalist/Prepper-types.  Available in several rifle calibers as well as a few shotgun gauges, Saigas are a relatively low-priced option (at least in most of their configurations) for a combination defensive/hunting tool.

My experience with Saigas is mostly limited to their .223 and .308 versions, but I’ve come to think they are a great option for certain purposes (which I discuss on the program).
