Great show! BTW Gail, you don't think some women won't buy a pink gun as a "barbeque gun"? I've always thought that the pink gun thing could work two different ways. One way would be that the bad guy might not take a pink gun seriously and make it more likely that the operator would have to shoot. The other way is, just imagine the ribbing the bad guy would get in prison if he was shot by a lady with a pink gun. Talk about deterrence!

It's been a long weekend, Appleseed kicked my patootie so this is all I have to say. In what way Gail? I'm going to the Appleseed training in a couple of weeks. Got my 10/22 modded, printed the suggested equipment list, went over the course syllabus. ...What else do I need to know? Great report on SHOT! Thanx!

Got my 10/22 modded, printed the suggested equipment list, went over the course syllabus. ...What else do I need to know? Great report on SHOT! Thanx! Appleseed was great!! But after two days of stand up, sit down, go prone, now do it again in the cold and rainy weather, my "more mature" body was hurting all over coupled with not getting enough sleep. Would I do it again? In a New York minute! Make sure you bring some kind of shooting mat and something for your elbows. Some people used elbow pads but I used my car blanket, all folded up and that worked great. Make sure you bring some kind of OTC pain reliever. Bring two of everything that you might need, including a back-up rifle if possible. Bring all the tools you might need: screwdrivers, Allan wrenches etc. We brought 4 rifles and really needed three of them. Some of the problems we encountered: my optical sight came loose and fell off, fixed that, then later the battery went dead, so I switched to a scoped rifle, to save time (I changed to battery later that night). Mas' scope proceeded to walk off the rail of his rifle. I had problems with magazines sticking in the gun and not going in, we finally isolated it to one magazine that was slightly different so we took it out use. Also use only Ruger magazines, however the magazine that didn't fit was factory and I had one that didn't feed the cartridges up. All of my aftermarket magazines failed miserably, and were from 3 or 4 different companies. I hope this helps and I know you will have a lot of fun. Gail

Most guys i know got their wife's and girlfriend's into shooting with pink guns. and pink accessories are very popular and are always happily received.
Not to mention its also a very popular niche for fathers getting their young daughters into shooting as well.
If they made a "Blue" gun i wouldn't be mad thinking they are just trying to market to boy's and the only ones who buy blue guns would be BOYS...
and geesh... if you guys want to hook up some other people with those passes for next year, i'll gladly walk all around this horrible place and get to touch and see all the new stuff coming out that the general public can't.
now don't take this the wrong way but it seems that some have forgotten how lucky they are getting to attend events like this. I would be excited as could be to attend.
this episode just kinda chapped me a little.

Didn't mean to chap ya, King. A podcast includes subjective as well as objective opinions. Part of our job, we figured, was letting folks who couldn't get there know what it was like. The complaints of the attendees were virtually unanimous...and many of the exhibitors complained louder.
Gail, like many women who've fought their way up in male-dominated endeavors and beaten the guys at their own game, doesn't like the marginalization of the "pink" thing.
Those who want pink guns, of course, can have at it.
best, Mas

It is OK.... nobody in his right mind would openly disagree with Gail's fine points. (Do notice I said "right mind" )

On this "pink" issue, what may be overlooked is that I guess you could say my XD with blue flames or one with a really cool zebra/camo look is my "pink". A responsible woman, choosing to be armed is an empowerment that I endorse, so a woman with a pink gun is still empowered. We have a local female sheriff's deputy near me that uses pink handcuffs. I'm told the men being cuffed aren't too crazy about that. Anyway, this is just my opinion.

That sheriff in Arizona makes the men wear pink underwear.. in prison:) Besides some of the Pink Guns are for a good cause. Like the Pink M&P that as I recall donates its proceeds to Breast cancer research. I'll probably get one and happily shoot a pink gun to save da boobies What red blooded American Man would say no to saving the boobies
