John, you have a good chance of being a winner, you are only one of two entries so far.

I knew I should've held off getting one!

I have one of these new nanos (my last nano was a 1st Gen 1GB nano that I bought while still a poor college student.  it was my first iPod and I LOVED it... despite the extremely limited capacity), and it really is fantastic.

If you don't win it here and you're looking for a small, easily synced (to iTunes of course, even on PC.--Shelton is wrong.  iTunes works just fine on PC.  At least, the last time I used it on PC--.... other desktop media apps really can't hold a candle to the power under the hood this sucker brings, all the bloat and store and stuff disregarded), PURE audio player (it doesn't do video, it doesn't do games, it doesn't have a camera, it doesn't do internet), with some small glitz on it, then this really is it.  I found the touch interface to be odd at first (especially when used to the clickwheel.... whose passing I do truly mourn.... what a great iconic interface method), but when you get used to doing things in a new way, it's VERY slick.  tap or slide to navigate.  That, and the whole screen being taken up by the album art really makes album art something worth having finally.  Battery life is excellent (it can go a full day of work playing w/o charging and make it home with about 1/8th charge left.... that's good).  Settings are simple, basic, easy to set.  It's just a good looking and working plug-and-go device that is more navigable than an iPod Shuffle and with much more storage.  It took a few hours to intially sync as I was transfering over a HUGE amount of audio, and having iTunes convert automatically all files that were at bit rates over 128kbps (to save ALOT of space).  After that, daily syncs for podcasts or new music is nice and zippy.  It also recharges from low battery very quickly.  I could have it nearly drained and in about an hour to an hour and a half it'd be back up to fully charged.

Btw, I read engadget's iPod nano review and then the comments.  You can disregard the commenters.  Most of them are talking out of an orifice not the mouth that only makes dirty sounds and expels dirty gases when it makes sounds at all.  They're complaining about everything and nothing.  Take it from me.  I'm an apple fan but not an apple fanboy.  I haven't bought an iPod since I bought a 1st Gen iPod Touch.  I had a need for a small music player that I could easily control that wasn't my phone (which does music GREAT, but I don't want to have to keep hauling it out to mess around with tracks.... it works great as a music player when it's a mounted media station in my car), which is a Motorola Droid X, NOT an iPhone (one of the few devices which apple has made that has failed to seriously impress me.  though the new iPhone 4 is quite slick, sans the design gaffe that is the antenna).  The nano now also sits on my desk at work and is a small media screen when plugged into the charging cable (I don't dock it to a computer except at home).  Great little thing.

So, MAJOR props to GRRN for offering this up as a donation raffle.  Whoever wins this is in for a real treat.

Story behind the Giveaway:

Some of you may already know but I kind of have a gadget problem. I like to get my hands on all the newest electronics and I have quite a collection of MP3 players. See "Do I have too many MP3 players" http://gunrightsradio.com/forums2/index.php/topic,296.0.html

So the day of the announcement of the new iPod nano I just had to order one, it's an impulse buy. Then I had buyers remorse and decided to give it away to the lucky winner of the context.

I hope the winner of the nano will let me know all about. :-)

Tomorrow (October 1) will be recording a new episode of the Gun Rights Advocates Podcast and you will be able to find out who the winner is by listening to Episode #113

Woo Hoo!!!! Been a while since I won anything!  I am super excited to get the iPod and test it out with my favorite podcasts.  When I told my wife that I won an iPod from a contest on these forums, her first response was, "Sweet! now I can listen to music when I go jogging!!!"  Lol, I guess she will have to fight me for it, or maybe learn to love podcasts while jogging.  I will post some pictures when I get it, thanks again Mark!

Been loving the iPod!  Thanks Mark!  My kids like to listen to music on the iPod, I just use it to listen to podcasts while at work or exercising.  Here are a few pictures:

My boy loves listening to music--not really into the podcasts yet.

A picture to show how tiny the iPod is.  Really quite crazy how they can fit so much into such a small package.  Touch screen is cool!

Me with the new iPod--thanks again Mark (and yes, the Black Eyed Peas song on the iPod is a song that my daughter requested)

I never win any of these kinds of things. I simply look at them as donations which someone spiced up with a give-away - which I won't get. It's like the "raffles" at church, or other social gatherings. Glad to see someone here enjoying the iPod, though. Usually a winner is too distant to recognize, so the personal touch is quite gratifying.

I like those raffles benefiting the Amazon.  iTouch Haven't lost one yet!

Cornmastah, congratulations!  Having a Nano with Gun Right Radio Network engraved on the back is just too cool!
