And what the hell did you do to your foot?

Apparently you can hurt your foot by jamming it in your mouth too often! ZING!  Wink

And here I thought he may have just stubbed his toe kicking an XD away from him.

Shelton, you didn't shoot yourself in the foot Mexican carrying the Glock, did you?

I'll intro myself as well. I am new to the Handgun podcast and listening to previous episodes and looking forward to new ones when he returns from Hiatus.

My name is Eddie. I live in Oklahoma. I am somewhat jealous that we don't have the ccw law Arizona does now. I am beggining to think I should move to Arizona. (or maybe Alaska.) Maybe I should live in Arizona in the Winter and Alaska in the winter.  Smiley

I do not now have a CCW but I am planning on getting one. I want to get my wife to take the class with me. She asked for a gun recently to protect herself.

I have a Colt trooper (like the one pictured as my avatar) It is the only gun we own right now and she says it is too heavy for her to lift.

She wants a Baretta (since she is Italian) I think she should have one and I am planning on buying it for her for her birthday/Christmas.

I was thinking of joining the NRA but after the Disclose act betrayal I realize that the 800 pound Gorilla only cares about his own power not my rights.  I think I will join the GOA instead. The NRA is not to be trusted.

Well enough about me.... Howdy y'all

By the way... I made a ringtone for myself that features the quote :"say hello to my little friend"  3 gunshots in rapid sucession then the quote "resitance is futile"

I thinks it's funny. I will email it to anyone that asks. (It is a 10 second Mp3 file)

Just started listening to this podcast a couple of weeks ago. I was referred to it by a friend/colleague. I am a New Hampshire resident who works in Mass. Looking forward to more great podcasts from Eric. I will have to check out some of the others in the GRRN group.

Welcome, from an old Jarhead to a young one. We are allowed to say that about each other having been in the Green Machine, but Eric was Air Farce, so he can't else we must pound him in the ground like a nail.

?Force or division.

Unlike you, I have all manner of prejudices, accumulated over time. Along with a crowd of weaponry to go with it. But I do agree - in the end, shot placement is the most important. Put the rounds where they need to be, and all will work itself out. (Especially if you're shooting a .308 vs .223.)

Army don't want the Air Force - they're too busy having "tank wars" (THAT, gentlemen, was just about an exact quote out at NTA from the Army guys when we took some A/C to support them. They did NOTHING with the planes, and when the pilots tried to suggest ways to involve them, they got that statement.)

I'm not positive but I'm fairly sure those guys were part of a SOWT (special operations weather team) which isn't quit the same thing.

I bought one of those watches.  It makes me feel more like a real Super Stealth Wonder Warrior with extra special Ninja skills and a Kung Fu Grip.

That's OK, Recon. Once a Marine, ... I ended up a flight surgeon in the Air National Guard, but I still considered myself a Marine. More importantly, pretty much everyone on the base thought of me as a Marine - even as a doc, the few occasions I said something, it seemed to scare the poop out of the whole command structure. Guess it just goes with the territory. There are exceptional people in all the services, but none of the rest of the services have quite the mix that the Marines have. Great real story from the SF guys who were in Iraq early. They had formed a military unit of old Saddam soldiers and actually did some nice work. Then they got the order to disarm the guys. So they told the unit that they all had to turn in the guns and go home. One asked what if they didn't WANT to turn in the guns. The SF sarge told them there was a Marine Bn about a mile away, and did they want him to call the Marines over - they ALL immediately turned in the guns!

Well, I'm not new to the board, though apparently my account is. Smiley

I was inactive here for some time, and it seems my account got removed. Rather than re-post my introduction, I'll just link to it:

http://gunrightsradio.com/forums2/index.php/topic,123.msg1151.html#msg1151

A few things have changed in the couple of years since I posted my intro. The most relevant ones to the forum here are 1) I got more guns and 2) I've gotten my wife into shooting.

So here's the quick scoop:

1) When I posted my intro originally, I owned two firearms; an H&K USP .45 and a Traditions Shenandoah black powder muzzleloader. I still have both of them, and the HK is still my regular carry gun. Since then I have also added an AR-15 (Stag Arms 2T) and a 1940 91/30 Mosin Nagant.

2) My wife has started shooting; I originally picked up a Taurus TCP .380 for her- in pink, no less. She had fun shooting it, but decided she didn't like how much kick it had for such a small frame, and it didn't fit her hands well, so we're probably going to sell that. She did a bunch of reading, and decided she wanted a 9mm, either a Glock or a Springfield XD. She tried them both out, and liked them ok, but then she tried the S&W M&P 9, & it was a hit. So that's what we ended up getting for her, and she's gotten to be a good shot with it.

So that's that.

Oh, and bonus: we took my 16 year old son with us to the range recently, and he wanted to shoot my AR and the .45. I was a little worried about his ability at first, since he's only shot .22 rifles before.

I needn't have worried. Here's a video of him with the .45:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/tmib/4914457411/

and with the AR:

Now going to the range is a great family outing for us. Smiley

Welcome back. Shooting with a son is one of life's high spots. Getting your wife to shoot with you is really special. You're a fortunate man.

Greetings all.  New to the forum.  Just recently got a new iphone through work and since then have been checking out the podcasts.  The Handgun podcast was the first I found and its still my favorite.  Since then I've branched out and enjoy many of the others, especially Daniel's Gunfighter cast and sorry to say, the Dudes  Wink.  I know you say some of your old episodes suck but I've enjoyed working my way up from about 50 to present.  Eagerly awaiting episode 116 since if I looked at the calendar right that should be the next Black Rifle 5-day.  Anyway keep up the good work and hello to everyone

Hi all. Just found this among other podcasts on GRRN. Just to Introduce myself; I'm not new to the gun ownership or shooting arena. Over 20 years. However; after taking up IDPA and getting a CCW within the last two years, I'm finding out just how utterly little I do know. I'm sure that the fact that I'm middle aged and much stupider than I used to be has something to do with that. (Sarchasm definitely intended)

I believe that training and maturity are two elements that will go farther than anything so that I never really have to exercise my right to self defense with lethal force. I've listened to a few of Eric's podcasts and really like his philosophy. Please don't mistake what I just said for being remotely a pacifist. Ghandi has left the building. But I'm seeing some good stuff here and will be willing to glean anything I can pick up from anyone.

I have been a 1911 guy for a number of years; still am, own three. But I recently got rid of two pieces that I never shot. (makarov and SP-101) And purchased a Glock 17. I just gotta say I dig that combat Tupperware and don't shoot it too badly. Since it is a departure from the 1911 I've really had to rethink several things and it's forced me to take a look at several things with grip, stance, and sight acquisition and has been a positive experience. I'm just looking to learn some more and get to know some good people.
