Hey Folks,
Been listening to HGP for a while but just finally got unlazy enough to come here and register.
I've been a gun-rights supporter my entire life - I was practically raised with a .22 in my hand. I've been speaking/supporting/promoting 2A/RKBA issues my entire adult life, and spent a good amount of time as a gun blogger 5-6 years ago.
Last year I returned to the gunblogging scene (EyesNeverclosed.com) and have been ramping up my efforts in promoting the RKBA, and educating as many as I can about firearms.

Welcome to the forum! I believe I've seen you on Gun-UP. You will find this forum more raucous and free-wheeling. Lots of good guys and gals here, with lots of good opinion, and interesting discussion. Glad to see you joining us.

Hello there folks.
John from York, PA. I just recently found myself with lots of time to kill (JURY DUTY!!!!!) and found some of these exceptional podcasts. Truly have been enjoying listening to them and getting as much info as I possibly can.
I have been a long time shooter and served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 7+ years. Currently I enjoy shooting Sporting Clays as well as a once a month pistol funshoot at the local Isaac Walton League. Have not made the jump to USPSA or IDPA, but I am seriously considering it.
I have found myself listening to Eric and the Handgun Podcast the most of all the podcasts that I have downloaded. I think that may be due to the great format and the interesting info that I always seem to hear from him.
I wish everyone a wonderful Christmas season!
John

Mega Dittos Eric, in the most Limbaugh way. I found your podcast after hearing Doc Wesson mention something about GRRN and the other podcasts. I downloaded a couple of shows, the first being Handgun podcast. I just broke a handgun drought of eight years this past Christmas season when I bought a...XDM .45... I know the gun that does everything a Glock does only more complicated. In fact I just shot it for the first time today after work when one of my coworkers (fellow Complicated Glock owner) asked me if I wanted to go the range with him-a member in good standing. I blew off Tae Kwon do as fast as I fished my cell phone out of the toilet and sent the wife an email letting her know my intentions. I have an awesome wife, but she seems to be a little...gun adverse, not anti-gun at all, just...not enthused. Anyway 100 rounds down range later and I have nothing but good things to say about the XDM... er Over Complicated Glock (OCG?).
Sincerely under complicated, Bryan

Hey Eric,
Great podcast! I just started listening a few months ago and love the show. Decided to start from the beginning this week (have listened to 24-present) and noticed the podcasts start on iTunes at #24, is that a space restriction? I have been listening to the earlier ones on the website, but next week I am out on the road everyday and wont be able to get them. I like how the show is not to specific to one particular topic podcast after podcast, and as a younger listener and fairly new to the gun world, Handgun Podcast covers the the essential topics to educate and hold interest.
Just bought a Walther PPS 9mm. Any thoughts on it? MA mandates a 10lb trigger (Heavy disconnector) with purchase, but one can replace it with a standard disconnector post purchase. Is it worth it to buy a gun at MA prices only to have to modify it, either risking a DIY job for a not-so-easy job or bringing it to a solid gunsmith (not too many in MA). For a fine carry gun, I have no regrets thus far!
Thanks! Patrick from Boston

Since I have already started posting and stirring up trouble promoting old 9x18 handguns, I figure I better introduce myself.
My online monicker is based on a code name for a character in libertarian fiction - everyone just assumes I am a communist which I find really funny. And just to be clear, I am not one of those anarchist libertarians that is really a communist. I'm not using my real name because I am a fan of basic privacy. Happy to get to know people better in private conversations though.
My day job is as a defense industry consultant. This is my dream job based on an obsession with military stuff since my childhood and an uncanny memory for almost anything I have ever read about equipment. I never thought such a job could exist (a few other careers before I found out as well) and they actually pay me to keep doing it 10 years running! Hope they don't catch on that I would do it for a lot less.
My firearms training history - I took part in a junior rifle training program (bolt action 22s) and went pistol shooting with a friend's dad. I was terrible. Did you grow up needing glasses and not know it for 4 or more years? I did. So that is a big hole and I know it. I don't compete mainly due to a lack of opportunities in the People's Republic of Maryland. I just shoot with a buddy, go alone, or take my wife with me (who always backs out at the last minute so it is really going alone).
I love guns, especially military-oriented guns. So my interest in guns is not purely for self defense, although my philosophy is that every gun I own should have a relevant self defense or self preservation function. Luckily ARs, FALs, Garands, or M1 Carbines all fulfill both of those requirements. But I round out the arsenal with a shotgun, 10-22, Belgian BLR, and some other goodies in the long gun category. In terms of handguns, I love revolvers - have a couple, always want a couple more. No 1911s or Glocks, though I do have two CZs that prove I can still be a snob without "a man's caliber" or "perfection."
I have been listening to the podcast on and off for well over a year now on my commute to and from work. That used to be by train and HGP and Practical Defense were my two favorites. Especially the HGP Black Rifle 5 days. I got out of them a bit when I moved but am now back to HGP in the car. Getting caught up means that I have opinions on things that are months old and everyone has already killed on the forums. So I guess I shouldn't get behind again so I can be a more active participant.
I don't usually post online but everyone seems nice and I haven't seen one mall ninja. It's not exactly as mature and elegant as the CMP forums but pretty damn good.
Eric, thanks again for the podcast. It is informative, inspiring, and entertaining. If only the Gun Dudes could get one of those incorporated into their show...

I've been enjoying your podcast for a while so I finally joined the NRA (EPL Life Membership). Yes, I used the link on your site. I've just recently got the gun bug so my collection is still small but growing. Maybe getting into some SASS. Thanks for the time you put into the podcast. I put about 50,000 miles a year on the road so enjoy long podcasts so feel free to go over.

I put my intro in the main section, but I'll put a little something here, too. I got pointed at HGP by JP5.56 and my buddy Weerd that Eric so frequently links to. From there, I had to see what was up with the midget Utahns Eric always rips on (The GunDudes. But there ain't nothin palatial about their part of Utah.) I mean, it is where I came from, and where I'm heading back to, after all. I have to give a huge thanks to Eric, and to all of GRRN. It's hard to keep up with all the information and misinformation running around anymore, and you guys do yeoman work at keeping all of us average joes up to speed. Keep it up, I love the shows.

Hello all,
have been a listener for some time i think i started listening to HGP and "the Gun dudes" around the same time. its an interesting study in opposites. Love the show enjoy the commentary and just plain DSC remarks.
I am a long time 2a supporter but i live in California or the PRK as some have come to call it. i have manged to put together a decent collection of firearms and am still looking to expand as well that is just plain fun.
I also am a major computer nerd but that is my job so it works out the geek pays for the things that go boom.

Hey Guys
I'm Jeremy from Texas. I'm 30yrs old and live in Houston. I work for the Port of Houston as a security guard. I've been doing so for the past 9yrs. Recently within the past couple of months, I've come to realize that my true interests and passions are shooting and protecting the 2nd Amendment. I'm also what you would call an armchair historian. Yesterday, I took steps and I joined the NRA. I joined as a life member and couldn't be happier. My next big project is to upgrade to a better pistol. I know what your gonna say, but I currently own a Taurus .38 special J-Frame. Within the next few months, I am going to be getting my CCL.

Welcome to the forums Jeremy and thanks for helping fight the good fight. Good luck getting your CCL. I live in Austin area (when I'm actually there). Hopefully we'll be able to open carry in TX soon. That is if Rick Perry will sign it. He's more into concealed carry and not big on open carry.
