Having recently watched a video where an XD armorer showed how to take an XD apart completely the extractor is easy to remove. It is just press fit in. all you do is use a pick to gently work it out of the hole. took him less than 3 seconds.
Did you actually listen to Truth About Guns episode 8?

5 pages on this topic?
All I can say is.  Undecided

But can we PLEASE not use the word "fan boy" anymore?
or just limit it's usage to 5 times a podcast?

Is a glock a true double action?  I thought they were basically the same.  Will it fire the hammer again without racking the slide?

I wonder if there is a youtube video showing the internal workings of both xd's and glocks like the one of the 1911.

I started to read this thread but was struck with the overwhelming desire to go slam my hand in a piano lid..... My gosh people, we're talking about a $600 chuck of polymer and steel for crying out loud! It's not like we're talking about something serious like 9mm Vs, .45 or old coke vs. new coke.....

XDs... Glocks.... what's the difference?Huh?? Everyone knows that they all suck compared to the M&P so what is there to argue about Smiley

You're all wrong... except for Stickhauler. He's right. Hi-Points rule!!!! It's the gun that John Browning should have invented but was too stupid to do so.
I think that wraps things up.

My landlord turned off my heat because I didn’t pay my bill.  So I pulled up this thread to warm myself with all the BS here.   PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE  for all that is good in the world, turn this forum into a bashing parade.  Anyone who has been here for a while knows that there are all sorts of reliable guns out there and I believe the mantra has always been to find something that works for YOU and shoot the damn gun!  Get some credible training and SHOOT THE DAMN GUN!  Bad day at work here so cut the Merde'!

Wow... If we got Matt G irked then we have either (1) done a fine job on this thread, or (2) Screwed the pooch. Not sure which. I'll re-hydrate and give it some thought.
Just kidding Matt!

Damn Chris, at the  rate you are rehydrating yourself you need to be careful of going into hyponatremia.  However, it may account for the less than curmudgeon attitude you have exhibited lately.  Sooooo after a few brewskis I have realized the folly of my request and have realized there will always be "Fan boys" in anything we humans do.  Be it sports/Politics/ Guns so WHACK away!

Matt G

p.s.  My M&P kicks both XD and Glock's ASS!   Tongue

Well there's your problem. You need to switch from beer to scotch. Preferably the single malt variety. Makes you less grumpy.

Daeglan,
Nothing makes me more grumpy than running out of beer. Just ask my Pro Arms team mates.

If you drink just the right amount of whiskey everyday you live for ever. too much and your just a drunk, too little and your not drunk enough to survive the world.

Daeglan,
Those are truly words to live by. But, I'll delete the scotch. I get into enough trouble on just beer.

When it comes to alcohol, I take after my great grandfather Martin. He hated the sight of it, so he drank it to get it out of sight...
