With a number of the pod-casts here talking about, or already having shirts, badges, hats etc. Could we be seeing a combined store sometime soon?

Personally I'd love to purchase shirts from a number of the hosts here and I think having GRRN host it would make a lot of sense. Having one central store for all the shows would really rock. From Massad's books to Shelton's shirts and Ken's zombie strike targets and everything in between  all in one spot, hell that would earn a spot on top of my bookmarks!

And lets be realistic, the only way the gun dudes are gonna get their shirts online is with a lot of help! Grin

What do you think?

That's actually not a bad idea!  I'd love some GRRN coffee mugs, etc.

Even if it was a simple webpage that provided links to GRRN shwag for the podcasters that would be great.  There is a bit of conflict for me on this though.  One of the greatest draws, for me at least, to the GRRN is that it does not seek to actively make money.  That said I would most likely purchase from the store.  Perhaps if it were to happen, a "round-up" style donation system could be put in place to support a worthy second ammendment cause.

As far as the coffee mugs go... I expect quick release rail mounts.. Grin

Here's the way I see it, (sorry for the late response, RL got in the way)

If I subscribe what do I get?   Best I can tell, the Hearty handshake and a nice warm fuzzy feeling that I kept GRR and it's pod-casters going. But, if there is a store, where perhaps I could buy stickers/decals/logos from some of my favorite pod-casts, then I could not only support my 'casters but advertise as well.

If I subscribe, I'm gonna want something more...sorry just the way I feel. I want video, say from pro-arms, Additional "Exclusive" material that ...pardon the term, "Regular" listeners don't get. But a store could have material from not only the pod-casters, but from fans as well. I could see forum and show based contests for best design with the winner getting their stuff made for sale by the shows they support.

And personally, I'd love to put the GGR's logo on the back of my Van in a nice semi-clear decal with my Fav pod-casts on each side. So everyone behind me would know what I support, and where they could find it.

It would go under my TSP sticker Shocked

Boots, what you say makes an awful lot of sense.  Thanks for your input- I think you hit the nail on the head.

Merchandise doesn't make the network a dime. I still have approximately 470 of the 500 GRRN bumper stickers and no one's beaten down the P.O. Box to get one.

Everyone always talks about how much they would like merchandise but never seem to buy it when we fork out the money.

I know exactly what Mark is saying.  Been there, done that, ended up giving all of the stuff away.  Having said that, I do like the idea of product though.  Just have to figure out a way to actually make money for the network and not end up worse off than before the product.  Most people would like a hat, mug, shirt, etc. and they have a price in mind of what they think it is worth.  When you go to someone to make a few hundred mugs your cost will be quite a bit higher than the big corp. who is having a million made.  By the time you mark them up to actually make money after all production, time, shipping, shipping materials most people say 'You are ripping me off.  That mug is way to expensive.'

Having said that...I am all for it... Grin.  I just don't want to do anything to hurt the network.

okay you really can stop sending me e-mails about Café Press. Yes I know they will do all the work for you. The reason I have decided not to use them is because of the cheap quality of the merchandise they sell and of course they keep the biggest majority of the profits.
