Last week when eric said he was renaming the podcast, I thought he would call it the six percent podcast.   You already own the domain name.

Maybe you could call it the six percent gun owners project.

"Old Pueblo Handguns" sounds a bit odd to me; I'd prefer "Shelton's Shooters".

Hi Eric,
I know this isn't what you were asking for, but I wanted to throw this out there anyways.  I hope you keep the "If handguns cause crime, mine's defective" saying.  I really like it.
But, if you are forced to change it you could do: "If guns cause crime, mine's defective".

"The Old Pueblo Security Podcast"

Hey Eric, you know I already chimed in with my thoughts.

a) Pueblo makes me think it's just a "Southwest" thing.

b) Old Pueblo...so you're dealing with the Alamo right?

Oh, and shouldn't it be

"Ye Old Pueblo Security Podcast"

Couple of suggestion...

"Down the Barrel"
(With a title no one will blame you if you go off topic or off target)

"Shooting Podcast: Defense & Fun"

"On and Off Target"

Or perhaps....

"The Gun Beck Show"

"Have Gun Will Talk" (er travel)

"Guns, Gear & Gusto"
"Guns, Gear & Fun"
"Guns, Gear & Preparedness"
"Guns, Gear & G (insert G' word)"

Actually I kind of like the "preparedness" aspect, as that's something I think you focus a fair bit on.

"Shelton's Shooting & Survival Podcast"
OR
"The Shooting & Survival Podcast with your star, er maybe just a comet, Eric Shelton"

And remember "Always look both ways before you shoot!"
(er, not sure where that came from)

---

I really think the title should have either the word "shoot" or "gun" in it. As I know most of the podcasts I found had the above in the title.

Being found is half the part of success.  Look at Jack Spirko. He often comments that his show really is NOT a survivalist show. But that "survival" is the aspect of the show that helps it be found by new listeners.

****

Ooh...I'd like an AR lower. Than I might start putting together an AR.

But I never win anything. Oh well.

I liked "Line of Sight", "Follow Through", and "The Firing Line" an awful lot also.

The Firing-Line is a chain of indoor ranges here in So. California. Don't know if they will demand a name change down the road...

Another suggestion is to not change the name (you have a lot of brand recognition), and just tell the complainers to go %&*#$ themselves. It is your show!

I vote for this. I think most of the complainers can be chalked up to a "vocal minority".  I bet the majority of your listeners don't mind what content is in your show.

I agree 100%!

The Handgun Podcast has been built up a fairly recognized brand.

"The Guncast" (but that already sounds like the Gunfighter Cast).

***

Here is my best suggestion, and I believe it's worth the AR prize.  Don't force yourself to change your name just because you're at episode 100.  You'd be far better off waiting until episode 125 and changing to a name you like and that has good marketability than changing to a poor name or one you'll come to hate just to do it on queue with episode 100.

That's my advice, no one is going to care if you wait till episode 105.

How about "Not the Handgun Podcast"?

Honestly, I think you should just keep the name. Like Alex said, if people don't like it, tell them where to go.

I'm in agreement with Tyler, Alex, etc. about keeping the podcast name because there already exists an amount of brand recognition. However, if you still want to signify the additional content of the show, how about "The Handgun Plus Podcast".

Range Master Podcast - http://www.rangemaster.com/ unfortunately already used...they do have some HOT instructors though...they also have some cool dry fire practice aides. Point Blank or Point Blank Range
Responsible Citizens
Polite Society
Take Dead Aim
Agent Shelton
Condition One
Cocked and Locked
Double Action

Personally I don't see anything wrong with Old Pueblo...how is that different that Thunder Mountain, Paladin Press, it is a brand you have to establish.  While it is great to have a name that says what it is, this can be a challenge given the broad number of companies in the market now especially through the internet where it isn't just a use a name that works in my town.  It becomes something you can brand, logo, etc.

I think the same idea of how do you find it search wise etc can happen with lots of podcasts/websites etc. this is the importance of tags and other metadata.  I mean what is "google" or "rally software" -- has nothing to do with Rally Racing

I agree with keeping it the same as well.  I mean, I hold ALL of my guns in my HANDS when I shoot them.

If it has to change, like others have mentioned you could just add to the name.

Handguns and More Podcast.
