Hello from Virginia

Hello everyone on the GRRN. My name is JD and I am proud to reside in The Commonwealth of Virginia. I used to hail from the Peoples Republic of Maryland (born and raised) but moved to VA about 9 years ago and I love it. VA is much more firearms friendly.

I have my concealed handgun permit in VA but do not carry as much as I should. One of my limitations is that I work in downtown DC which we all know has some strict limitations on firearms. Hence I am one of the law abiding citizens that can not possess proper personal protection while the "criminals" walk around DC armed.

I am a member of the Virginia Citizens Defense League and the Gun Owners of America. I am a past member of the NRA and am considering a renewal.

I found the GRRN because a friend of mine sent me a YouTube clip of Eric Shelton dragging a Glock through the desert and the damn thing fired. So I started listening to the Handgun Podcast. I am kind of anal about things so instead of listening to the most recent episode I went and started at the beginning. I think I am up to 20 something. I have also listened to the roundtable podcasts. Listening to the last one of those right now.

I am a member of a local range (Silver Eagle Group) and go about once every other week. I am mostly a handgun person (carry a Glock 26) but do have some long guns. I inherited a bunch of shotguns and rifles when my uncle passed away as he was an avid hunter. I do not hunt so I am looking to sell most of the shotguns and rifles. I do have my own shotgun for house protection (Mossberg) and I have an AR that I bought a few month ago but have yet been able to get to the range to shoot.
