Hi Doc.
love the pod cast. keep up the great work.
But one thing, Optimus Prime told me to let you know the Intro tunes are great.
The only people that will get this will have to watch the movie Transforers.

Greg,
Thanks for the nice words...
I am not sure I follow you about the Transformers comment.
The intro music is from National Treasure.  Great movie.
Thanks!!

IMDB to the rescue.  I thought maybe they just had the same composer (since everything Danny Elfman does sounds the same, and most Michael Bay flicks have similar scores) but Transformers original music was done by Steve Jablonsky.  When I think of the music in it, I think of the vague hints of techno at the end credits, punctuating Optimus' monologue and Starscream's escape.

National Treasure was directed by Jon Turtletaub, and scored by Trevor Rabin.  And Doc, as a minor movie geek, I was thrilled when you revealed the source of the music and I was right in my guess!   Cool

Bingo...
And if you heard my episode on National Treasure... you will note that Trevor Rabin was the guitar player for YES in the 80s.
Since you play guitar, Eric.  Turtletaub is a great producer... did all of the "Pirate's of the C" movies and E-Ring, if you remember that NBC series.... as a matter of fact, he has gotten Trevor to score a bunch of stuff for him.  I pretty much love anything Turtletaub has put out.  And Rabin's music is always fantastic.....
I am going to do a "Guns in the Movies" episode soon.  I was hoping Mick would join me on that one "hint hint... Mick"...
Hey Mick if you can't pull yourself away from the new bride that long.. tell Erica to join us as well!!!  LOL......
Eric,  good research.

I liked the first "Pirates" movie.  Hated the 2nd so much I never watched the 3rd.  E-Ring was great, and I was really crushed when it didn't come back for another season.  I don't watch a lot of TV, so it's gotta be a good show to hook me.

I never realized Jon Turtletaub was behind so much good stuff.  I usually just look for a Bruckheimer production.

If you do Guns in Movies, don't forget this one!  http://www.saysuncle.com/archives/2008/09/26/the-infamous-glock-7/
