I put the Tru Glo fiber optic with tritium on my Glock 19 and really like them.  They work well in bright light or in the dark.  For me it is the best of both worlds.  I'm running green in the front with yellow in the back.  I'm not sure if it is better than all green but it seems to work for me.

I have TruGlo Brite-Sites on my XD-40 and I love them however mine are all green. They do work well in the daytime too. I asked once about getting yellow for the back sites and was told they don't last as long as the green. I don't know if there's any truth to that or not but it would be nice to find out.

I've pretty much narrowed my choices down to either the Tru Glo's of the Big Dot's for my daily carry Glock 19.  I really like the idea of the tritium and fiber optics of the Tru Glo's but I'm also blind as a bat without my glasses so I think the Big Dot's would be better if I ever lost/didn't have my glasses.  Tough choices  Huh

I went with the trijicon night sights on my glock. My first choice were the XS sights but since I was able to get the trijicon for free I went with them  Grin I am definitely glad I went with the trijicons. From now on every handgun I own will be fitted with trijicon nights sights, if possible.

Well if I got them for free that would make my choice a little easier now wouldn't it  Tongue

And just how do we go about getting on this "Free Trijicon sight list"?

All of my SIG's have night sights and I would never be without them. When considering a new gun, if it doesn't have night sights I won't buy it unless I factor in an additional $100 to add night sights. After that if the price still seems good then I will consider the gun. They work excellent in daylight and even better at night.

Sorry, just had to rub it in. I got a gift card from my credit card rewards points and used the gift card to purchase my sights. Nothing better than free gun stuff!

I have been thinking about night sights for my xd and in talking with buddies they suggested getting my existing sights painted with a special paint instead.. Anyone have any recommendations?

I have trijicons but also considered strongly the truglo fiber/tritium combo because you get sights that light up in all conditions.  Night sights aren't there for you to shoot in the dark, as in I can't see my target but I have a great sight picture (it is an interesting way to practice the draw to stance and see how well you get to a good picture for dry fire practice however--do this with my timer and par time).  Night sights are there for fading light conditions, you can see and identify the target and can clearly see the sights.  Beyond that most night sights are better made or they serve a specific purpose/design philosophy like the XS sight for instance.
This then gets to the what kind of use do you have intended for the gun?  Only worried about close distance combat accurate?  Have an issue picking up the front?  Want something more narrow in the front?  Shooting competition?  Or just want some cool new bling for your gun?
