Listened last night -- Very Good!

The lever portion, Average Joe's Sig 238 review, and Jerome's discussion on the Marlin 94C 38/357 were all excellent.  I've owned the Marlin for years, and Jerome taught me a bunch!

Tactical levers perhaps, Doc?  The lever in history, why we love them?

Thanx again!

HOW I LOVE LEVER GUNS!!!
Yes.. tactical levers... i have already started it... was gonna surprise, but you guys are way too smart..
Glad you enjoyed the cast.  I have so missed doing them... Gonna try to get the next one out fairly quickly.
Hey.. I agree.. I thought Jerome did a bang up job (pun intended) on the 1894c.. so much.. that I pulled mine out of safe 3 and am going to the range this afternoon w/ it.
CF, you are a good egg.. i appreciate the comments here and on the main webpage of the GNP.

Doc;

I'm gaining an appreciation of just how hard it is to put a podcast together; I'm struggling with Audacity in order to record several gun reviews that I've promised Mark. And I certainly know how much I enjoy your podcasts, along with the GunDudes', Shelton's, ProArm's, and from all the other great GRRN contributors. So a few heartfelt Thank Yous are the absolute least I can do.  That, and a subscription to GRRN and an occasional donation.

Thanks again.

CF (Dan)

ps: I think Jerome and I will both be at an Appleseed Project training class sometimes soon.  I'll buy him two beers.  One of them will be yours.

Yay!  Thanks for the podcast!  Thank you even more for helping our soldiers with the new helmets!  I can understand why it's been so long in coming.  I haven't gotten through the whole thing yet, but I like what I'm hearing.  even better, I'm learning a few things.  Russia really used Winchester lever 95s in WW-I?  Cool!

Bill,
Thanks for the kind words.  Appreciate you hanging in there w/ me.  Yes.. the .357 lever is an excellent lever.  I have one myself.  I have shot 10's of thousands of rounds through it.. with nary a hiccup..   i run some max pressure handloads in it as well.. and she handles it.. I give her 158 gr Speer TMJ @ 2000fps plus.. quite often.. she seems to like that well... if you get one let us know.

Hi Doc, we're glad to have you back on the air. I've read rumors that you were doing a lever action series and am glad you finally got it out. I've been a fan of lever guns but never bought one until a couple years ago. With SASS and the cowboy gun craze the prices of lever rifles went through the roof for a while and the reproduction rifles from Taylor's and Cimmarron etc are just out of my budget. With the cowboy craze in full swing the NRA added a Cowboy Rifle category to their Silhouette program. We fire lever guns in the Long Range Pistol silhouettes at 50, 100, 150, and 200 yards/meters. There is a pistol cartridge category which is fired on smaller targets at 40, 50, 75, and 100 yards/meters and a smallbore .22 category at the same distances. Well, after some looking around for good deals I now have 4 different lever guns and am having a blast at the matches. Now if I can just find one more in .32-20 at a reasonable price, original or new, my collection will be complete. Thanks to you, Joe, and Jerome for a great podcast. Below are a couple great links about Cowboy Silhouette.

Thank you Doc, first for the lever gun podcast, and secondly for doing all the podcasts.  I really enjoy them.  Your tone is great:  helpful, informative, but not "know it all."  And you don't trash folks with opinions different from yours.  Your podcasts are some of the few that I archive for re-listening.  And I do re-listen from time to time.  Keep up the very good work.
