Doc, you wanted to play with 357sig for cheap, here you go.
Quoting from www.pistolgear.com:
*******************************************
PistolGear Drop-In Barrel for XD
Details

The PistolGear Semi Drop-In Barrels are made to factory specification, with a few added twists. The dimensions are over-sized in a few keys areas, yet we designed the barrels to where they will drop into approximately 90% of the XDs & HS2000s out there (hence the name semi-drop in). Unlike the XD’s stock barrel which is carbon steel, our barrels are made from 416 stainless steel; the same material used in our “Match” barrels.

Note: If you have a Service model, the Tactical barrels will fit your gun; however the barrel will extend beyond the slide.

Note: This is NOT a conversion barrel!

Note: .357SIG and .40S&W barrels are interchangeable, meaning that you can convert your .40S&W XD to shoot .357SIG rounds by merely changing out the barrel, and viceversa.

Glad you like it. bar-sto makes a barrel too, but its a little more expensive.

I have the bar-sto for my Sig, and its fun being able to change calibers at will.  I am also considering getting the 9mm conversion barrel for it soon too.

I bought the sig in 40 S&W because it was cheaper to shoot by a little, and more common, but I love the 357sig round.  Its fun.

I do not believe so - yet.

Come over to www.xdtalk.com and look around the XDm forum.  You will find your answer there for sure.

I am positive that there WILL be an XDm conversion to 357sig soon however.

Doc, does that mean that the .38 super 1911 is out of the picture or are you still getting it? If you want something a little more exotic but still practical, how about the 9x23 Win. That's 10 rounds of .357 mag ballistics in a single stack 1911.

Jerome,
No not out.. as a matter of fact, I am on a splurge.... I also bought an XD 45 compact yesterday. (4"bbl and short grip)...  I still want a .38Sup.
I thought of the ole 9x23.. I would have to get set up on reloading for it due to the scarcity of the cartridges.. unless you know of a good place?  I think the ballistics of the 9x23 are excellent.. (as you said, .357)

OH an good job on the Camp 45.  I wish they would bring that back and actually build it to last!  Would love to get one.
