This month I discovered that there is a women's shooting club that meets the 3rd Sunday of every month (or 2nd?) at the Winchester Gallery here in Fort Worth. I went to this last one and it was really fun. They're very non-competitive and shoot fun targets and it's a feel of just doing the best you can and enjoy the company. And then there was cheese and fruit trays afterward with champaign while we had little recognition awards and whatnots. It was super fun! They will not be meeting in December due to the holiday but will pick back up in January. I highly encourage you to call Winchester and sign up early as space is limited, it's $16 and you use less than 50 rounds, they also allow .22 caliber to be used. I will definitely be going every time.

I also found out about Diva Wow while I was there, it's a women's outdoor club that does a variety of activities, not just shooting but also hunting, archery, dog training, fishing, AR-15 clinic, all sorts of different things.

Sounds like fun. Hmmm, I just have to get my wife to want to go... Grin
Can you supply more details on the shooting portion?

We received 6 targets, one practice bullseye, one that was a pilgrim hat and each band was worth different points, one was a fence with bottles on it and each bottle you can knock off was worth points, one was a sillouette target with point value rings, one was a deck of cards that was placed  backwards so you were shooting blind, and I forgot what the last one was. Each target used between 6 and 10 rounds (total of 39) Whoever had the highest score for each target won a prize off the table, no one could win twice so if someone won again then the next highest score got that round, there was also an overall winner. Each winner got to pick a prize, I got a pink and purple with zebra striped glasses case (yay! it's super cute), other prizes included a gift card, a basket with godiva chocolate and champaign, a super nice pen, and other cutesy nifty things. We went in two waves due to the number of lanes vs number of shooters so you get to hang around and socialize for a little while. Each target also had a sticker on it with a $ amount (mostly 1s) and if you can hit the sticker you get money.

Just pitched the idea at my wife and she sounded interested. I may have to hand over the Ruger MkII, a box of ammo and send her on her way in January. (She said I'd have to each her how to do it, but she's a natural.

Thanks for the info penguinofdoom.   Cool
