I couldn't have asked for a better birthday present (ok, maybe the senate too). Na na na na, na na na na, hey he-ey, goodbye.

I do believe America has spoken!!  Now will our leader hear or will we have to wait another two years?

Ain't that the truth Doc. Let's hope we have a good candidate to oppose him. Of course, anyone would be better than what we've got. But I am sure sick of "anyone but..."

Doubling costs? Of course. The money is only worth half now anyway so you break even (if you never save for your future)

We Didn't Lose - We Left

Ahhh... SOME celebrating is in order, but let's not go too far overboard. Fact is the Wicked Witch ISN'T DEAD - she's just temporarily displaced. Have no doubt that she will be strident in her role as minority leader, and the media will give her huge space to spout off. Just look at the current tax issue. ALL you hear is the dems lamenting a "tax cut for the rich". In point of fact, there is no tax cut - for ANYONE. What we are talking about is a tax INCREASE, and all that's been said is that we shouldn't INCREASE the taxes on the "rich" - a dubious class warfare distinction if there ever was one.

But yes, it IS a nice day to watch the toppling from power of a person so inimical to America and her essential premises. And I, for one, am glad that the Senate wasn't won - this time. It gives us the ability to watch dems - and the prez - and better vote in 2 years. Most people on this forum seem to have basic constitutional sense, but if you look at voting records across the nation, despite the fact that polling on issues shows 70% of Americans to be conservative (a mislabel, but we'll leave that for the moment), the dems pull a huge number of voters. HOW, after these two years, AND the current nasty demonstration of basic bad ideas they can still vote democrat is just amazing to me. But it does mean we have to be on our toes and continue to work for our ends. AND we have to keep the republicans' feet to the flame.

It ain't over, folks. It's only beginning.
