In Oklahoma City (armpit deep in snow) for the next two weeks. Anybody know of a decent IDPA match out here? Found one at The Firing Pin (indoor match) and one at  the Muskogee Gun Club, but that one doesn't seem too active... Anybody know anything about either one of these, or another nearby?

My, Kevin! Here I am, bored out of my skull, in Des Moines watching a big snowfall, and you come up with that heading! I HAD a match, but thought it was more than slightly tacky, so I'll pass and only hope you can find more to do in Ok City than I did way back when we did an RON with half the squadron.

Dev, thanks for refraining from the obvious. At least I didn't start out with, "Likes long walks in the rain..."
With all this snow, I'm thinking indoor shoot.

Kein,
You've probably already done this.... but if you haven't... check the IDPA.com website.... scroll to find a club.... call MD. Quickest way to find stuff that I'm aware or.

Thanks, Chris,
Just talked to the MD of The Firing Pin IDPA club. Going to shoot Sunday afternoon... if I can get my car out of this snowbank.

Dang, Rick, above and beyond, brother. Above and beyond...
Thanks for the comprehensive list. Looks like I've got another call or two to make, depending on whether or not the weather keeps me here a little longer than expected. Don't know if the Okies shoot in this crap or not. Thanks again. I really appreciate it.

I doubt any outdoor ranges will be shooting if there is any snow on the ground.

The other indoor range in OKC is H&H Gun Range. It is supposed to be a pretty good store/range from what I've heard. Might be worth checking out.

Kevin.
Just a thought on cold weather matches... which it looks like you'll be shooting this weekend. Add some more powder to the shells. That cold weather "toughens" the cardboard, and requires a bit more punch to get through than your normall loads. And, scoring "dimples" is tough. Ya gotta make a defined hole.

Chris, actually, I've backed off on my loads quite a bit, but dip them in extra Alox so they leave a nice black dot on the cardboard now. A black dot is much easier to score than a dimple. However, they smoke twice as bad as they used to. It's all give and take...
