Perhaps just perhaps, that head gear might provide a skoshie bit more impact resistance if the caps were in proper placement?

My favorite is the sheet of cardboard held over his head. And that's protecting him from .... what exactly?  Now if he spray painted it black (krylon of course) and called it "tactical" that would a totally different story!
