I will be a little late posting Episode 117.  I just got back from a busy business week in Vegas and now I brought home a sickness with me and I've lost most of my voice.  You probably wouldn't understand me even if I did a podcast anyway.  Look for the next episode on Wed or Thursday, thanks for your understanding.

Finally got Episode 117 posted.  I reviewed 2 High Noon Holsters I've been carrying for a month.  High Noon Holsters sent me these free of charge to evaluate. So you'll hear my honest opinion.  www.highnoonholsters.com

Bob, it was interesting to hear about a holster manufacturer I hadn't heard much about. I'm curious about their belts, you seemed to really like the Wilderness tactical belts before, what do you not like about them that you like with the high noon belts?

I'm getting ready to replace my Blackhawk gun belt and I just know I don't want the same kind of belt again.

Thanks,
Magnus

I am getting ready to purchase a new gun belt myself and would like to know what I should be looking for.  There is a Galco dealer at many of the Dallas/Ft. Worth gun shows and I was thinking of buying one from Galco.

Don't buy any belt until you seriously look at High Noon Holsters' belts. They are simply awesome!  I now only wear 2 belts, Wilderness Tactical for casual wear and High Noon for dress belt. I just did a YouTube video on the High Noon belt www.YouTube.com/user/handgunworldshow

Hi Bob just listened to ep. 117. Great show! I noticed in one part of the podcast you said you don't tuck your shirts in but you wear a $100+ High Noon gun belt for dressy situations. I was just wondering if your shirt isn't tucked, who is seeing your dressy belt?

Don't get me wrong, I don't think a C note is unreasonable for such an obviously high quality belt, I just was curious about your particular  situation.

I'm a truck driver so my 5.11 trainer belt works fine for me in any situation I need to dress for.

What I meant was that on the rare occasion that I pocket carry because I can't untuck my shirt then the nice looking belt is a plus.  Bottom line, they are so well built I wear them untucked shirt or not.

Good enough for me.

Bob, for discrete non-permissive carry, if you need to wear a dress shirt tucked in, have you considered a cross draw appendix tucked?

For Christmas, I got one of these, and will be wanting more (I got the patterned blue, so it goes well for casual wear with a sports jacket):  http://www.511tactical.com/All-Products/Shirts/Covert-Shirts/Covert-Dress-Shirt.html

They are meant to be worn tucked in (otherwise, the tail is much too long.... so it's obvious the extra material there is for tucking in and appropriately blousing with khaki pants or dress slacks), and those snaps make it easy to just grab the midline, yank, then reach in and draw.

Not to mention, they look exactly like normal dress shirts.

Plus, if you're carrying appendix cross draw, then you can keep going with the same mode and gun for carry in the office as when you're driving to and from and still have the same ease of draw.  That's what I'd call convenient.

Just another option for when you are kind of forced to choose gun and method of carry by how you need to dress rather than dressing around how you carry.

I just use my regular IWB, but I'm looking into appendix crossdraw options for comfort and accessibility.   Normally I'm fine with an untucked buttondown, since 9/12 months in the year its too warm for long sleeves.  But when it does dip below 60*F, I like to have nice, snazzy clothes I can comfortably cc with.

Edit (Sent from my 2008 iMac):

I just thought of something, Bob.  That holster you just interviewed the maker of... that would be perfect for this kind of shirt when wearing it tucked.
