The Illinois House of Representatives may vote on HB  148( a "shall issue" concealed carry bill) as early as Tuesday April, 26!   This bill has a real chance of passing this year.  If you live in Illinois please call your State Rep.  TODAY  and urge them to pass HB  148

Thanks!

+1. It needs all the help it can get with Chicago, Chicago Police and Cook County against it.

The bill has the support of:

* IL Association of Chiefs of Police
* IL Sheriff's Association
* Chicago Police Lieutenants Association
* Chicago Police Sergeants Association

In addition, the Illinois State Police have changed their stance from previous years when they opposed concealed carry.  They are now neutral on this bill.

Unfortunately, while it got a solid majority, 65-32, it failed to have a supermajority (71 votes needed) to pass legislation that curbs local powers. So for the moment it is dead. Thank you, Democratic Party.
