Given my fondness for the 1911, I decided to name the conversion that NS2 sent me to play with the Glock 1926.

It's a Glock 19 Frame cut down to Glock 26 dimensions with the 19 Slide and Barrel. He also did a stipple job that is easier to hang on to compared to the standard Gen 3 Glock. I just picked it up from my FFL this evening and look forward to taking it out to play with in a couple of weeks.

Since I favor IWB Holsters, the longer Slide isn't an issue, but sometimes one desires a shorter butt for those times when concealability is important. Also, in my mind it makes little sense to have a Frame that can accomodate 15 rounds, but the law limits you to ten rounds. I am not so hindered, but if I lived in CA, or some other communist state, this would be an option I would have to strongly consider, as I hate wasted space in a gun.

Since I don't do Glocks, you will have to elucidate a touch. ?Is this a 9mm, then. I believe the 19 is, but have no idea what a 26 is.

The 26 is the sub compact 9mm where the 19 is the compact 9mm.

Yea, yea, we know you really want it to sound like it has been around awhile like the 1911. Another glock wanting to be a 1911. We see the real story.

What I would really like to get my hands on is a Glock 1719, or maybe a futuristic 3419...  Some day...

I get what you're saying.  I would only offer up the counter points that more grip makes the gun easier to shoot well, and if one lives in a 10-round restricted state they're also less likely to be able to carry at all.  (Actually, I really want to know what the correlation with carry permits and magazine restrictions is, now!)
