Step Up...or Step Aside!

Being out of the Army now, I will not be going into battle with my AR therefore, like most all of the add on stuff, I just don't see the point. I learned how to run it with the standard release and never had a problem with it. I see no reason to fix what for me is not broken. KISS

IMO...The bolt carrier catch lever is a flaw of the original design.  Just because a bunch of folks worked through the problem doesn't mean it's not a problem.  The BAD lever, while not perfect, certainly makes reloads and malfunction clearances faster.  Some who do use the M4 regularly find it to be a worthy addition.  YMMV.

If I were still high speed, I might too. I am not and I know that. Like I said. I do not need that kind of speed and for me see no need for it. So to the OP, no I do not have to have this.
Toys do not impress me since I am no longer tasked with using them.
I just do not think the zombies will come, and do not feel that I have to have the newest and coolest. Not one of my AR's have anything that didn't come from the factory on them.

"You won't get gun control by disarming law-abiding citizens. There's only one way to get real gun control: Disarm the thugs and the criminals, lock them up and if you don't actually throw away the key, at least lose it for a long time. It's a nasty truth, but those who seek to inflict harm are not fazed by gun controllers. I happen to know this from personal experience."
