So, I purchased a Ft. Knox pistol safe today on the recommendation of the Gun Dudes. I even had it shipped using Logistics. It better be good! This will be in the bedroom for the home defense gun and probably my EDC gun as well (I have another safe for that, but it isn't ideal or of nearly the same quality).
I have a GunVault Nano 300 for use in the car. Unfortunately I have auto seats so it doesn't fit underneath so I'm still looking for a good, concealed place to stow it.
What are y'all using?

I have the Ft Knox pistol safe they recommended and I think it is great. I have even used it in the middle of the night when it was dark and I heard a strange noise to investigate. It worked great.

Safe arrived today. Quick shipping. An admirer would say this is very durable, overbuilt even. A detractor would say it is unnecessarily heavy. For a safe designed to be bolted down, I can't understand all the weight in the bottom. Perhaps the theory is that if it isn't bolted down, someone who grabbed it could run off but they couldn't run fast.
The Simplex lock works pretty well, although not perfectly. The instructions were slightly confused - the manufacturer (not Ft. Knox) needs to look up the definition of a "notch." A notch doesn't protrude. I will be interested to see if the lock lasts for day in and day out use for years. I am optimistic.
Overall I am initially pleased.

An update: after about six months this safe quit working. It wouldn't open - with ALL of my loaded carry guns in it. Ft. Knox talked with me over the phone and we found a way to get it open. That was quite a relief as I did not look forward to trying to get that safe open. It is well built! Ft. Knox promptly shipped me a replacement which arrived today and asked for the old one to be returned so they could inspect it. I am not happy that the Simplex lock failed, and I am curious to know what went wrong, but I do commend Ft. Knox for taking care of the situation. They stood behind their product which is the best customer service I can imagine. I'll buy another when I need it.
