I just finished listening to 028. Well done Eric. I thought you were maybe a tad to much apologetic, again, but whatever. Good job. How’s the new schedule working out?

Eric,
One thought, the reason that felons do not buy guns at legitimate venues is NICS. If you know you are going to fail a NICS why try? The 73 were not just felons, but criminally stupid, as well.

Taking a risk here, but I don't think it was too apologetic at all. Those that may differ in opinion are welcome to do so, it's called agree to disagree, no argument is needed. And I also agree that felons don't buy legally because they can't. They get what they can, wherever they can, no matter the price or brand, that's typically called theft.

While not really concerning handguns, when you mentioned chambering a HP with a towel snap. I could not help but think when using a towel for self-defense what are the exact techniques and are certain fabrics better for such purposes. 100% cotton, poly-cotton, Sears, Bed Bath and Beyond, or is it necessary to get the BlackDog Towels in Kevlar.

Good show, Eric. Thank you for expressing your opinion--if I wanted tepid "correctness" I have many outlets, but the reason I enjoy your show and the other GRRN shows is that they are so full of personality. It is perfectly reasonable to expect a host to be polite, thoughtful, and opinionated, and were the GRRN shows lacking in any of these qualities they would be lesser efforts. Your brand of "regular guy"-ness works for me and quite a few others who enjoy your program. It's fun to see what you will bring to the table each show, and the personal asides make the program that much more charming. Thanks for spending your time and money to bring us the Handgun Podcast.

Some guys like the lightweight backpacker's camp towels, some guys like the red rags you buy at the auto parts store 'cuz they're cheap and you can get a lot of 'em. I have a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy approach, and simply requite that it's large enough for normal use, and doesn't let light through. That way, you can wrap it around your head and blind yourself for when you run into attackers stupid enough to think if you can't see them, then they can't see you.

I see that you are one hoopy frood who knows where his towel is at! Someday if we meet, I'll buy you a pan-galactic gargle blaster. AFA using a towel for a weapon, there is a way to wrap a towel called the rats tail that makes the whipping end very small and prevents it from unwrapping. Using this along with a modicum of martial arts timing, I've been able to leave opponents begging for mercy with major league welts up and down their arms. If I didn't have a gun handy, this would be a worthy substitute.

This is outragous... we cant have these dangerous weapons on the streets... we must ban all towels before our children are all obliterated...

Great show! Now if I could owe any kind of gun in Chicago, everything would be so much better.
