I'm pretty sure that mas wrote about which speedloaders work in the LCR and which ones don't, but I'm having trouble finding the article in the disaster zone that I call an office. Grin
If anyone can chime in on which ones do work, I would appreciate it.

I did see this in the archives..

Quote
HKS size 36 CAN work, if you finesse it. By that I mean, conical bullet (no flush seated wadcutters) ...BARELY get the bullet tips into the chambers, and then release. Likelihood of being able to delicately finesse something that fine motor skill dependent under stress is extremely poor.

I like the LCR, have carried mine and will carry it again, used one some this week while filming next season's Personal Defense TV show. However, I use Bianchi Speed Strips for spare ammo, and will continue to do so until HKS comes out with an LCR-specific speedloader.

best,
Mas

maybe I was wrong about thinking that there was one out there...I looked at HKS website but there isn't any contact info. Huh

I've tried the HKS 36A, and they will work with the boot grip, but not with the Crimson Trace Laser grips.

I've not gotten around to ordering some loaders from 5 Star Firearms, but according to their website they will work with the Crimson Trace.

Thank you Superduty!

My LCR has the CT lasergrips so thanks for including that info. Although I am a newbie to revolvers I am familiar with Safariland and HKS speedloaders as the have a pretty good following. I had never heard about 5star until your post, so I did a little Google-Fu and read this;

Heck, I'm willing to give them a try. Their product looks like it is well made, I am impressed by the slim design.

Thanks again, I appreciate it.

Thanks again super duty.

I'll look forward to hearing about them.  They are pretty.  I might need to get my LCR chromed so it would match them!

I tried the HK 36 in the LCR I had in for T&E. It sorta worked, if I worked at it... and under stress I think it would really suck. Bianchi Speed Strips or Tuff Strips always work, if you practice a bit with them. Not as fast as a smoothly executed speedloader reload, but faster and more positive it you bobble the speedloader reload.

SPEEDLOADER FOR THE LCR

Another gun.  Grin

That's why I generally pack three when I pack a revolver as a primary.

5 star firearms loaders are just too darn ..... OK I'll say it... PRETTY!

Before I get in a serious fight with the Missus, I would like to be sure they work smoothly. If the do, I'll be buying the whole range kit.

I got my set-up yesterday, and I could not be more pleased.

To start off. I am not much of a revolver guy, and this is the first speed loader that I have used, so factor that in when you consider what I have to say.. Grin

What amazed me was how light the speedloaders are, you almost think that you are holding some sort of silverized plastic, the walls seem very thin, but since it is billet aluminum, I doubt that would factor negatively, when you load the LCR and see the clearance it becomes evident why the thin walls are a necessity, the bonus is the light weight. The mechanism clicks solidly in place, but releases the rounds with ease, no jiggling or manipulating is necessary, the knob is a six point knob.
The instructions advise "oil lightly, keep dry", so I used my needle precision oiler to put a drop of oil on each end of the shaft where it enters the body of the unit, the website says that there is a plastic bushing, but it isn't visible. The website gives a more detailed description of the construction:
http://www.5starfirearms.com/speed_loaders.html

The Range block is as aesthetically appealing as it is functional, the holes are deep enough to hold the rounds vertical for a one handed reloading of the speedloader, but they glide out of the block with ease.

I don't see any mention of what their warranty policy is, they shipped priority USPS and arrived in a couple days.
I only wish I had ordered more speedloaders to qualify for the free shipping when buying $99 of product.

Formerly, this company was named 3dinc, the website is still up;
