I thought the title of this thread would get your attention!  After watching this video, I just learned that my Glocks are all plastic.  There are no metal parts in them at all.  Really, after all this video says so.  So I'm going to the gun show this weekend, to sell off all of my piece of junk, all plastic pistols.  If you want to really get your blood boiling, watch this video, http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26315908//vp/41030180#41030180

Maddow says that in the '80s Glock said they could make an all-plastic gun, but that such a possibility was banned in '88 by Ronald Reagan, not that current glocks are all-plastic. She does seem to do her best to make Glock sound bad though.

I hope Maddow is right when she says gun control is dead. It might have eased up in some ways on a federal level, but local and state governments still have plenty of restrictions. Rachel mentions the heroism of the woman who stopped the Arizona gunman when he was reloading by running up and grabbing the magazine from him. Imagine how much sooner he could have been stopped had the woman herself had a gun rather than having to wait for him to stop shooting.

In most areas I would be seen as liberal, and I actually like Rachel Maddow, but I feel they really put too much faith in the ability of laws to stop people from doing bad things, and have too little faith in good people being able to take care of themselves if allowed to do so (come to think of it, that's the whole liberal platform ...). I wonder if I'd have a better chance at reaching the left in this regard since I'm so close in other areas, but so many of them freak out at the thought of even a good friend having a gun in their home that I generally am very careful who I discuss such things with. For most it's not a rational point of discussion.

We Didn't Lose - We Left

Pretty much nothing is rational for liberals. Listen to the "arguments". They not only don't speak to facts, but actively eschew them. ?What is the favorite mantra of the left - that the gap between "the rich" and "the poor" is growing. ?What does that mean. It is a statistic with no usefulness. It implies that "the rich" and "the poor" are static groups, whose make-up is fixed. That is SO FAR FROM REALITY it isn't even worth talking about. So more people made a lot of money. ?This is bad. The statistics come out about every 10 years, and if one were honest one would check who is IN which group. But the same people don't generally stay in the same group. "The rich" turn over, with a new group becoming the rich.

We don't need to talk about guns - we all know about them.

Stimulus. Someone on the left should read Amity Schlaes' book, The Forgotten Man. She isn't partisan, just records the the facts, so to speak. EVERYTHING the 0b has come up with, other than taking over health care (and FDR DID take over other segments of the then economy, like power) was already done by FDR - with disastrous results. The depression went on until WWII saved the nation, COMPLETELY because of FDR's policies.

Liberals generally do displacement, accusing conservatives of what they are or do. So when they called conservatives "fascists" in point of fact THEY are the fascists. Now they claim the conservatives have no plan or ideas. Truth is THE LEFT has no ideas - they just do and say the same old rubbish they have done since the 30's.

The most surprising thing about that video is that 7.62mm guns are anti aircraft weapons?   Huh

How ignorant.  And the ALL PLASTIC Glocks?  I bet she's never even seen a Glock.  Typical example of someone spewing out talking points and vitriol that they learned from someone with a political agenda.  And I must say, it seems these days, both the left and right have a tendency to spew out talking points without knowing what they are talking about.

Not all, just saying, it seems to happen more these days.  Especially on the subject of guns.
