I don't remember how now, but I just an hour ago came across and listened to "022 Light Triggers" podcast on the ProArms Podcast, which made me want to learn more about how to "know where the attack will come from" in court, as Mr. Ayoob said many time during that podcast. Now, I have always been interested in becoming more knowledgeable in the area of the "hard facts" of conceal carry and the reality one faces once the concealed weapon is presented and, then possibly shot in defense of a life. The podcast made me want to seek out a definitive starting point in material on this subject (books and what not). The podcast pointed me to these forums as a way to interact with the speakers and community around the podcast.
And that is the story of how I came to post in the introduction forum of gunrightsradio.com
Random background about me! As it relates to the forum? and guns? I guess?
I am in my 20's and I have been carrying (Texas CHL holder) for 1 year + and I do take it as a very serious decision and responsibility. I am partial to the 1911 platform and carry a Pro Crimson Carry II in a leather IWB holster. I am active an a local IDPA club and shoot a full size 1911 in that situation (though I'm not that great, working on it). I like Springfield's XDm and own a 5.25 comp series in 45 acp for my polymer gun. I reload my 45 acp ammo. I guess that's all I will type for now, been up all night, darn internet. (Excuse the typos and grammar, I'm sure its screwy, it always is when I post on no sleep no matter hard many times I reread it)
Thank you,
-Dominatus

Welcome, from another Texan (former Yankee.) I think the "light triggers" episode is one of the best from the Pro Arms team!

Welcome! You'll fit right in. I'm running a S&W 1911 in the Cowboy Action Shooting Wild Bunch game. Too much fun. Bob's Handgun World Show podcasts are extremely good and the ProArms podcasts are beyond compare. And, try not to get any GunDudes on you.

Greetings from the Soviet State of Illinois. We up here are deemed too dangerous to our government to be allowed to carry weapons, and indeed only recently and by decree of no less that the SCOTUS even allowed to OWN a handgun within the nasty city of Chicago. Count yourself lucky. My daughter just got a promotion and is moving to Dallas shortly, and one of her first questions was would she then be able to carry a concealed weapon. Whatever my many foilables may be, it would seem I brought up my daughter correctly.
There are many interesting discussions here on this forum. Take them all with a grain of salt. So of us are old, crusty curmudgeons, others young hard chargers, but we ALL have opinions. Many are even well thought out, and some from the school of hard knocks. In the end you will be making up your own mind on what is right and what is not so much.
Oh, and in 2012 - vote Republican. Doesn't matter who it is, just vote AGAINST the Democrat. If you value your future and liberty.
