$82. Man, a case of ammo is more expensive.

While in full disclosure I just got back from a dinner with my wife that set me back more than that:

What is the real point if a Mossin?
I have heard their accuracy is well under par.
What is their function really?
What is the draw to them?

Somebody set me straight please.

Cheap, reliable & VERY tough 30 caliber rifle with a ton of history (heck, even a few US troops were issued mosins...) that are decently accurate...

plus, ammo is cheap.

They are what I like to call Zombie Guns. When the zombies come this is the gun you want. Easy to keep running, packs enough punch to drop them, and their are a crap ton of them around to find spare parts for when all the gun smiths have been eaten.

They are fascinating pieces of shootable history.  At 82 bucks, you can't lose much money, and you'll likely make more if you ever sell. 180 dollars for rifle and ammo, and you've got a great weekend.  Worth it in the Kewl factor alone.

Plus, if the SHTF seriously, you've got a proven, practically indestructible, battle piece.
