A couple of year ago Starbucks refused to cave to the anti-gunner's demands to prohibit open and CCW carry in their stores. The nutters have decided to punish Starbucks for their support of freedom with a boycott starting Valentines Day: 14Feb12. Naturally, with every action, there's an opposite reaction. And at least in this case, the reaction should be much, much greater. Sebastian on the Shall Not Be Questioned blog is one of the many promoting a BUYcott. So grab your $2 bills and head over to Starbucks and show your support of a courageous outfit when they are threatened by fools.

Thank you for the heads up. I use a Starbucks card, since it is really small and so easy to carry in my wallet. But I will make a visit on Valentines Day.

Starbucks is out of the way of my daily commute and is not my first choice in coffee selection. However, in view of the recent threat to boycott by anti-freedom loving gun haters, I am going there on Valentines Day Dennis

I rarely get Starbucks (have a hard time justifying their prices), but you can bet I'll be there a couple of times on the 14th!
Bill
A side note, when you to, let the clerk or manager if available that you are a gun owner and thank them for following the law and not caving to the anti's demands. (I won't go so far as to say their support of the 2A, since Starbucks' policy expressly stated they weren't taking a position, but that they were simply allowing lawful conduct).
If they don't know that it's the gun owners supporting them on that day, it doesn't do much good (except to show that the planned boycott was ineffective).

I just picked up a bunch of Starbucks gift cards to give away with the understanding they use them on the 14th! Had to forward Jon's video too! http://www.youtube.com/v/HrU7m3OmOY0&rel=0Enjoy- melski

I was able to get four $2 Bills for use on 14Feb12. From Wells Fargo. The Gen Zero teller didn't quite know what to make of my explanation: $2 Bills for the 2nd? Amendment? - of the Bill of Rights? Civic freedom? For Starbucks?
He said they'll keep more $2 Bill as they come in, and to check back. I think I'll bring him a Pocket Constitution, it may be the first time he's seen it.
Good to know our Pubic Skewl system is performing so well.

At least he knew that there actually was a $2.00 bill! I've had some tellers look at me funny before I asked them to check with someone else.

I have long tried to carry about $20 of $2 bills. I try to leave one at any restaurant that I liked the service. You would be surprised at what a stir they cause.

Here is a flyer I just posted at our gun show this weekend. I copy this from the web but I don't think the guys that posted it will mind. Well maybe NGVAC will.

I just posted this on my forum too, before I knew about this thread. I plan to buy 2 cups of coffee and tell them why...and I'll be carrying. I thought the statement from the National Gun Victims Action Council saying they were upset because Starbucks won't refuse to serve "anyone who might be carrying a gun." Just how would they determine that? Since nearly all guns are carried concealed, how would they know who's carrying and who isn't? Perhaps Starbucks' management is much smarter than the turds who run the National Gun Victims Action Council. The stupidity of the anti gun groups never ceases to amaze me.

Tomorrow (Valentines Day) is the Starbucks BUYcott. I'll be hitting the one near work three times: on the way in, at lunch, and going home.
Let's support an organization principled enough to stand against the anti-gun nutters and for everyone's rights.
I've got a fist-full of $2 bills, and the will to use 'em!

Enjoyed a grande Americano today and left a $2 tip. Business didn't seem any worse (or better) than usual.

Biker and I were quasi-discussing this, this morning.... I went in with Big Jack on hip riding in my HAND MADE Shark holster/belt/dump pouch.. I switched my grips on Big Jack to some black and white ebony grips I have.. they have a good sheen to them and they pop in contrast to the stainless steel and the black shark leather... I don't keep those grips on due to them not being boot grips. I went in open carry.. smiling all the way. No one else in there was open carrying.. I paid the bill w/ my SB card.. but tipped in a deuce note. The Barista looked at me like I had 2 heads.... Wasn't anything to do with Big Jack.. no... it was the $2 bill........... she said... "Is that real money?" Kids today..... I of course explained it was legal tender and then commenced to explain my tip in relation to the 2nd Amendment and Starbucks.. While doing that I turned myself slightly as to allow patrons behind me to hear. When litany was finished... I got this "Cool.. thanks for the tip." En Fin........ I was at least hoping for someone to ask me about the spectacular presentation of Big Jack!!!! Times have changed.........

My 1911 and I enjoyed two coffees today, not one second look and just a nice thank you for the $2.00 tips. Nary a protester around. Is starbucks pulling a fast one on gun owners to get our $2.00 bills?

Was there at 0' Dark:50 AM at the Starbucks outside of work. $5.20 for a Large Blonde (how appropriate) Roast and a sausage sammich. Gave them 3 $2 bills. The Gen Zero Barista wondered “More two dollar bills?” I could see one Deuce in the tipjar.
And we’ll be back for lunch and after-work treats. ;^)’ In fact, that Carrot Cake did look really good...

I was there bright & early this morning and spent over $60, between a bag of coffe, a couple paraits, a cup of coffee, (I know there was something else - just don't remember what). In CA so couldn't open carry. When I go back this afternoon (oh yeah, I got a gift card) I'll be sure to explain to clerk and manager if I can, why I'm spending my money there. Didn't have time this morning to talk, and there was a pretty good line of impatient-looking folks behind me, so it wouldn't have been a good time to go into a 5-minute lecture about the 2nd Am. ; )

I bought a cup of coffee, paid with two dollar bills, today and will likely do it again later this week. I was open carrying my 1911 of course as a political statement. Nary a protester seen, nor any other gun toters, and nobody was alarmed at the sight of my stainless 1911.

Did likewise.
Man I have to wonder just how many $2 bills Starbucks got. It would be an interesting statistic.
