Great episode.

Just want to say that the open carry movement pretty much forced starbucks to come out with their statement and it was a pretty neutral statement. Same thing with Walmart. Walmart would kick out people who open carry. I did. And like many others I wrote to Walmart headquarters and they stated that they follow local and state laws. Talked to the manager and he didn't have a problem. Now.. I think that maybe we(pro-gun activists)didn't  bring Starbucks to their highest profits ever, but we sure got a reaction from the antis huh? And really it is about the camaraderie of people who have similar interests and supporting business who are pro-gun. Yes, we may buy from businesses that may not support our movement, but I try to spend more of my money with pro-gun business and encourage others to do so to.

I do actually try to vote with my dollar as well.  I can't always do so as sometimes you do need to use paypal, but I don't eat at California Pizza Kitchen for example.  I think open carry could work to desensitize some people to carry but it might also have the effect of building support against carry.  The problem is you are putting it in people's face and forcing them to make a decision on how they feel about an issue that maybe they didn't care about before.  I don't have the option to open carry in Texas as it is against the law, but that being said even if it were legal I am not sure that I would do so.  On the other hand I have no problem with people doing so if they represent the community well, I just feel that it is possible the issue will backfire on us, vs concealed where I would say the majority of people couldn't care less as they are oblivious to the fact that it goes on.
