Was wearing a NRA instructors hat!

Dressed like a bum other than the hat, brought his Glock in the case inside a plastic grocery bag.  Loaded one bullet shot and then is looking for it with his bad eyes on the floor with 6 lanes worth of brass on the floor.  While pointing his gun all over the place, all be it with the slide locked back.  Did this four times it was 357 sig but darn I don't know what he was thinking.

When I say dressed like a bum I mean he had on four or five suit coats, duck tape holding the rubber end on his cain.

It was crazy nice new Glock shooting the 357 sig (and we know thats not cheap) and I'd be real surprised if he was not living on the streets.  Pulled a target out of the trash to shoot at.

I'm so confused and perplexed, I really want to know the story on this guy.  If we did not have ear muffs on I bet this guy had some stories to tell.

Sorry I more than likely sound real judgmental or maybe just mental, but it was just way strange.  I seriously he shot like 4 rounds and was searching for each one for like 5 min each and the range was pretty well swept up.  I found 3 of them for him he never did find the other one, I think it flew into the trash.

This would worry me more than how he was dressed.

To be fair the slide was locked back when he was looking for the case and not paying attention to his muzzle.  The part that killed me was the NRA instructor hat and complete lack of muzzle awareness.

He also was standing behind the red (loaded gun line) shooting so his cases would not go forward over the bench.

This was really only the second time I was ever uncomfortable at the range the first time was a new shooter and I fixed her issue quickly as she was with my wife and I.  I have seen this guy behind the counter so is know he is very comfortable in the store and with the employees.

I would have chatted him up a bit, just because I'm curious.  Sounds like the guy that has 100k empty brass around - just in case he ever decides to get into reloading!

On another tangent about the hat, a few weeks ago I was told a story about someone who runs a bunch of ATM machines.  He is not a gun guy but he gives all of his employees NRA and various gun company hats to wear when they service and empty the machines because he believes it might make a bad guy think twice about robbing them.

Spoke with gun shop owners and they said he is a nice old guy that really likes his guns, maybe a bit of a hermit/hoarder.  Would have spoke with him but his ears were not electronic so that a bit tough on the range and did not see him on our way out, we were the last ones on the range.

Also the owner said he would speak with him about the muzzle discipline issue.
