Hey All, I am Kevin from Stillwater, MN (originally from Hayward, WI).  My wife picked me up a Zune120 for Christmas (very cool, I bought myself an M&P9c, just a bit cooler).  I have never listened to any podcasts until then.  Found Eric’s Handgun podcast on Zune Marketplace and the GunDudes from Eric’s cast.  Since then I have been listening to all the archive casts for all the podcasters on GRRN.  Lots of great casters out there, good information and it has gotten me more motivated, politically as well as personally.

As I said earlier, I just picked up an M&P9c, which I really like, not sure if I like it better than the Colt Defender I have, however I think I am more partial to the .45, thrown a lot of rounds through it with no issues.  I deer hunt with a Blackhawk .357 Mag (topped with a bushnell HaloSight) and picked up Marlin .357 lever gun to compliment it, where I hunt in WI is pretty thick so don’t need a lot of distance and it is nice only having to carry one type of round.   I also have a nice little Mark I for plinking, or should I say ‘had’… recently got the wife out shooting for the first time and I think she has commandeered that one.

I have several others including a mini-14 ranch gun with both 20 and 30 round mags.  It is not a tactical set up yet, trying to find a good kit.  I also just picked up a DPMS lower with RRA guts, so looking forward to building that.  I am sure I will be hitting up Eric and Stan for more info.

Guns on my short list:
SW1911PD with Tac Rail (next week!)
SW M&P Pro Series (both 9mm (for the wife) and .45ACP)
Ruger LCP
SW 360PD

Guns on the top of my wish list:
SW M&P AR15 (moved to the wish list due to the DPMS purchase)
   Springfield 1911 TRP .45 ACP
Springfield XDm .45 ACP (if/when available)
   Many many more

That’s about it – looking forward to sharing info and stories with all of you.

Hello!  Nice to meet a fellow Minnesotan on here.  I have a DPMS AR too.  Not only am I proud it is made in the USA, but it's manufactured in ST. Cloud, MN too.  Good luck with completing your wish list.  They sound like some great guns.

Woo-hoo!  I love my Zune audience!

I'll be sitting down to record a 3 part series on building an AR today, actually.  It will be on the Gun Review podcast.  Speaking of which, you can go back through the archives and find my review of a Mini-14.  But basically, I'm going to insist that being "tactical" has nothing to do with having a black stock, and everything to do with the way the rifle is used.  The best thing I did with my Mini was get it 'smithed by Great West Gunsmithing.  You can find 'em if you search Google.  And I love my Ultimak rail!
