Well, Doc, from listening to a fair portion of your broadcast last night, I can only say, they WEREN'T thinking.
Yes, there are interesting, well designed pieces out there. Ruger has made a number of fine additions to the arsenal we have available to us. But much of what you see is just "me, too"-ism. I look at all the Colt SAA clones, and most are simply attempts to cash in on cowboy shooting. So are many of the 1911's that have come out - attempting to get "in on" the centennial of that creation.
Business consists of people with ideas - and dopes who also run. The latter generally are devoid of any original thoughts and just hope they can make some cash on a trend. I like Sig, but sometimes I think they make models with the same thinking. They come out with a 224 - and advertise it as a 226 with some of the slide cut off. But you can't put a 224 slide on a 226. ?How smart is that.
OTOH I believe a gold-plated Dessert Eagle IS the nads! (
