Just listened to episode 192 and would like to throw out another option for dealing with squeaks. Of course, the recommendation by the Wise One to use the time tested bacon grease is the go to choice. However, should you find yourself in the unlikely position of no bacon grease, a light spritz of baby powder on the leather does a very effective job.

I took a piece of velcro soft side and stuck it to the metal clip where it touched the leather no more squeak

If you have to use bacon grease I support adding some down around the cuff of your pants. Hate to see soneone going for their gun and find a doberman mauling their holster. Give the wildlife an easier spot to attack, leaving the strong side free for action.
