Dev and CF... thanks for the comments.. I only want to relay my gratitude.. How can one possibly show the respect to someone willing to risk and lay down their lives for me.. a stranger.....
I did the show recorded due to the fact that I have a hard time getting through it without getting choked up every few mins..
THANK YOU SIR FOR YOUR SERVICE
I actually had the Battle Hymn of the Republic AND Amazing Grace in it, in addition to Taps...... I took them out..... it was too much for me to handle.. the renditions of those songs were incredible... Amazing Grace was sung a capella... and incredibly well.... sounded like an angel singing.
At the end.. I did that like 20 times due to getting choked up (the reason I did not do it live)... I finally gave up and used the best one I had...
I would like to echo your sentiments Doc. I find it hard to accept accolades for the opening of the show that I did. I only spoke from the heart, and had to do several "takes" to set what made it on the air out.
Dev, I as well would like to thank you and all of those who have ever worn the uniform in service to our country. Our nation owes a debt of gratitude to you all, and I am only sorry that there only 2 days a year that are set aside for remembrance of that service.
