Any comments on buying Ar-15 prts for the future. parts that you will need because of "wear-n-tear" or BAN"S. Shotgun News has an artical out on what to buy to keep your AR running for many years.

their list includes

3 extractor springs
1 extractor
firing pins
cam bolt
buffer springs
trigger spring groups
magazine springs
firing retaining pins
buffer
gas tubes

can anyone think of how many of each, or anything else that might be needed "just in case"

I don't really see these as being needed to keep your gun running long term.  I could be wrong, but I think parts outside the list of "evil features" will remain pretty available.

Having said that, I keep a spare bolt, cam pin, firing pin, etc. in my fore grip.  And that assembly takes care of a lot of the spares on your list.  $65 at Larue Tactical.
