Here is a classic example of why we should always carry.

A 71 year old MAN just demonstrated to a bunch of MALES in this Internet Cafe, what it is to be ready.

Yeah, but he used a substandard caliber (.380acp) that no real man would carry.   Cheesy  After all, it does nothing to the bad guy but piss them off, right?  Except for these 2 clowns.

Read the article of what happened and check out the picture of those 2 knuckleheads.  They look like a couple of role models, don't they?   Tongue

Despite some commentators insistence to the contrary, I do believe .380ACP functioned just fine as a fight-stopper.  Stopped those two idiots just fine.

Let's remember bullet placement. The old man did fine but his skills probably diminished with age.  Good hits with any caliber are deadly.

Hits count. Good hits count more. Not having a gun is a big minus.

We need LOTS more of these kinds of stories! They are out there - they just don't get aired.

Thank God he had a gun and used it.
Thank God the bad guys had a bogus gun. It could be a totally different outcome

I think this +P+ coming out of a full size gun wouldn't be so Snappy. Specially with the new G19 recoil springs.

You guys realize there are no standards for +P+. I would be hesitant to shoot something that you cannot know the potential pressure of. I would also hold that +P is enough to do the job you need.

True but I trust Winchester to get it right.  SAAMI standards were developed a long time ago. If the TX DPS and other law enforcement agencies trust it, so can I.

Please pass the Corbon DPX too...

Cor Bon is one of my favorites. They have a super light 95 gr JHP in 9 mm with amazing ballistics.

Anyone know what particular brand of .380 this gentleman used?  Ruger, Sig, S&W, Kel Tec, etc?  I've only seen reports mention it being a .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun.

It looks like a Kahr P380 in the video.

I doubt anyone but the cops who are investigating will know.  The news critters don't know anything about bullets, so they'd see FMJ's, SWCs, JHPs, etc. as all the same darn thing.  They barely comprehend caliber.

I know what I load my .380 with, and that's Hornady Critical Defense.  IIRC, it passes the penetration test.  Correct me if I'm wrong.  I've actually considered changing its load to standard range FMJ's after the last Gun Nation podcast (or was it the barstool?  I forget, but Doc Wesson was one of the hosts).
