Yeah, but he used a substandard caliber (.380acp) that no real man would carry.  After all, it does nothing to the bad guy but piss them off, right? Except for these 2 clowns. |

Despite some commentators insistence to the contrary, I do believe .380ACP functioned just fine as a fight-stopper. Stopped those two idiots just fine. |

You guys realize there are no standards for +P+. I would be hesitant to shoot something that you cannot know the potential pressure of. I would also hold that +P is enough to do the job you need.

True but I trust Winchester to get it right. SAAMI standards were developed a long time ago. If the TX DPS and other law enforcement agencies trust it, so can I.

Anyone know what particular brand of .380 this gentleman used? Ruger, Sig, S&W, Kel Tec, etc? I've only seen reports mention it being a .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun.

I doubt anyone but the cops who are investigating will know. The news critters don't know anything about bullets, so they'd see FMJ's, SWCs, JHPs, etc. as all the same darn thing. They barely comprehend caliber.
I know what I load my .380 with, and that's Hornady Critical Defense. IIRC, it passes the penetration test. Correct me if I'm wrong. I've actually considered changing its load to standard range FMJ's after the last Gun Nation podcast (or was it the barstool? I forget, but Doc Wesson was one of the hosts).
