This was sent to me by a listener.  Thank you Jason.  This criminal didn't obey the sign on the door.

That's a really good video, I think.  Good for them.

But rather than hiding or trying to smack the guy with a fire extinguisher, wouldn't this be a better response?

The point there was "improvised weapons".  The state can't prevent employers from implementing no-gun policies (even unofficial ones that only carry the force of employment termination and not legal prosecution), and not everyone will want to carry a gun.  But everyone is involved, whether they like guns or not, if an active shooter appears at the work place.

This video would cover all of them by teaching down to the most unobservant condition-white employee.  And I like that it unobtrusively makes the point that signs don't stop criminals.  As far as a government-sponsored message goes, this one gets an A+ in my book for responsible suggestions.

The truth is that at your place of work, you may not have the choice to carry, so your only other options are mentioned in this video.  I like the fact that they do add "Fight" to the options because you should be ready to do so in any way you can during a situation like this.

More than likely the first CHL holder to make it to their car would probably try their best to make a difference although it will be late for many at that point.

The first responder is you, but if you have no weapon, you must use your head and do what you can to survive.

The video is well done in my opinion.  I also like how the video showed the 30.06 sign because it also points out how they make no difference to a criminal or someone who will soon be considered one.

I also enjoyed the video.  It makes me appreciate that I can carry at my work.  I forget that for many people a large portion of their day finds them unarmed (or without a gun).

More like the first CHL holder who was actually carrying in spite of company policy would do their best and be in time, but Houston can't actually acknowledge that and retain support from companies with idiotic carry policies (which is most of them).

This was a great video from a government body.  They actually said arm yourself and fight if you have to.

If you are a CHL holder and plan to have the weapon in your car, get it and go back in, just think about all the things that could go wrong.  You could get shot by the bad guy, attacked by your fellow employees, or shot by responding officers, and you have a handgun, what does the bad guy have?  I'm not saying you shouldn't go back in, but think about it before you do it and if you are thinking about it have a plan, like body armor and a rifle and a way to identify yourself as a good guy.

Keep thinking ahead and planning.
