Great article dispelling some of rhetoric spewed by the anti-gun media. Well worth the time to read!

A well written blog post!

I wish I could interview this guy! I will put some feelers out, but unfortunately I think he may be a bit too big of a fish for me to land at this point.

Larry is a relatively new author (though already a NYT Bestseller author), so perhaps not.  It doesn't hurt to ask.

Y'all really should read his books, though.  They appeal directly to us gun-guys.

Very good read. Thanks for posting.

Larry's sarcasm when fisking hate-email-senders and hostile commentors who won't use their brains, etc. is wonderful.

It's very close to the humor he uses in his MHI novels (something I joyously call "literary gun porn"), such as Earl Harbinger's retort to some punk in MHA (Monster Hunter: Alpha, which is book 3) who said something like "People like you are why we have crime on our streets" [people like Harbinger having lots of guns], to which Earl retorts, "And it's people like you who put fries on my plate, so get!"

We've gone over these points SO many times, it hurts. There appears to be SOME comprehension in the public at large in that there are more gun sales, and many of them are to first time owners, a great statistic for our side.

But what we really need is a nifty label to make the anti's look bad. Sort of like when the anti-abortion guys came up with Pro-Life. We need a label for all the anti's to make them look poorly.

?CF ?Anyone. Maybe a national contest for how best to label these parasites.

Anti-gunners are pro-helpless, anti-children (can you imagine... they want to reduce the ability of the schools to protect our children from violent predators by putting them in marked areas that violent sociopaths tend to target), and pro-death.

How's that for starters.

Though I'll take Larry's fisking of them any day.  The points have been done to death, but I love the way he does it.  It's so refreshing and fun to see these idiots get their rears handed to them in such style.

Not arguing that he does a good job. But what he's doing is defence. What we need is offence. No doubt some of the activity of groups like the SD Open Carry group that forced the city to revamp their laws is useful. We need a more co-ordinated attack, and we need a "hook" to pin the anti's with. The NRA tends to be defensive. It doesn't seem to have found a really GOOD attack on the anti's - something that would resonate with the people, who mostly are reasonable, common sense Americans.

Dev, I think you are on to something here.  The two phrases that immediately jumped to mind were that we are pro-freedom, and we are anti-slavery. Although anti-tyranny might work as well. None of these seems very catchy like pro-life is though.

Maybe we should refer to them as the British Crown Sympathisers. Or the REDCOATS. Or maybe even the Tories, who IIRC were the pro-crown group during the Revolutionary War.

Maybe we should refer to ourselves as the Valley Forgers or Paul Reverists. We are, after all, fighting for Liberty.
